Yesterday morning, Mass Maritime held the Grand Opening for the American Bureau of Shipping Information Commons. Despite the weather, it was a very exciting day for the Academy. As President Rick Gurnon said, "This will truly become the heart and soul of the campus."
In addition, Carol Cornelison, the Commissioner of DCAM, also announced for the first time publically that the state would be working with MMA to fund the addition of photovoltaic panels to the roof of the building. This is fantastic not only because of the energy savings but also because the building is now within reach of LEED Platinum Certification.
We at Perry Dean Rogers would like to thank DCAM for the opportunity to work on this project, MMA for providing a clear and unwavering set of objectives and WT Rich for getting this building constructed on time and under budget. This was a great team of people and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
