Fort Lewis College Student Union Construction Update 1/2010

Despite the cold weather the construction speeds on at Fort Lewis College.  The large concrete façade rising over Rim Drive and the valley below will soon be clad in sandstone; the mock-up shows the texture and color of this beautiful material.  There are several versions of this stone used across campus from various quarries in the four corners area; this particular stone comes from a site less than 60 miles away.

One of the best parts of doing work in Durango, Colorado is the amazing views afforded by flying at 18,000 feet over 10,000 foot peaks.  In the winter the peaks seem even closer than that.
